Nowadays books are often replaced by computers or television.But it was not always like that.Earlier, reading books was a kind of entertainment, the gap from the daily routine.Antique literature is considered as books published before 1950’s.These are evaluated by a number of criteria: age, content, memorial value, number of copies, illustration style, quality and so on.Often the book age is clearly visible, but age is not a decisive factor in every case. The biggest part of antique books is Bibles, as this has often been in every home, and therefore published in a greater number of copies.Antique books differed from the present in their appearance: the larger leaves format, often with leather covers, decorated with ornate stamps, more valuable – with blacksmith made brass or bronze fittings.
