According to Chinese legend, tea was discovered by Emperor Shen Nong when a wild tea leaf fell into a container of hot water by accident. The first tea sets were different from today’s, consisting of small bowl-shaped cups and teapots for brewing. They didn’t include vessels for sugar, milk, or cream. Porcelain tea dishes were highly valued. Over time, they became decorative items for nobility and essential for serving tables.
