Wall tapestries

Tapestries were already woven in Ancient Persia, Mesopotamia and Byzantium in the twelfth century. In Europe XIV – XVI century tapestry-type fabric was famous in Paris, Fieldfare, Brussels. After the establishment of the royal tapestry factory in 1662, by expanding Gobelin masters family workshop founded in the fifteenth century, tapestry production evolved.Each antique tapestry is a true work of art, which requires a lot of time for production and high craftsmanship, diligence and artistic sense – one weaver could weave a year 1-3 m2 of tapestry.Antique tapestries were used to decorate the walls of entire hall, and were also very appreciated as luxury gifts.
